MANCHESTER — The Manchester Community Library and Northshire Bookstore will host a virtual storytelling on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
"This is going to be an interesting experience," said Michael Nigro, who is emceeing the event.
Six storytellers already have signed up to participate, according to Cindy Waters, adult services librarian and programming coordinator at the library, who said organizers would like to recruit a few more. People interested in telling a story can email events@mclvt.org to reserve a spot, though space is limited.
Each storyteller will be allotted six minutes to share a true, first-person story. Stories are not limited to any particular theme.
Virtual events can be difficult for storytellers because of the lack of in-person crowd reactions, said Nigro, who hosts a story night in the Bennington area. The host hopes to increase event's interactivity by encouraging audience members to use the Zoom platform's chat box.
Audience members can obtain login information for the event through the library's website, mclvt.org.
