SUMMIT, NJ - Hilltop City kids will be transported into a Once Upon A Time fairy tale adventure as the Summit Free Public Library offers a daily 'Story Walk' throughout downtown. The fun program is offered now through the end of August.
Participants should start at the Library, pick up their first clue, and then follow subsequent clues, 'meeting' different fairy tale characters along the way. To encourage teamwork, the Library has partnered with the City of Summit Department of Community Programs to ensure safe social distancing.
Posters and signs are displayed in various local businesses and City of Summit public parks. The 'Story Walk' participants' mission is to find the different stories, scan the QR Code on the signs / posters with a phone’s camera and watch that character's story., then follow the clue to the next location.
The Library encourage walkers to tag the Library in their pictures using #summitplstorywalk, and get ready to meet Goldilocks, Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and many others. Younger children should bring a parent along, and all are reminded to keep a minimum social distance of six feet and wear a face mask on their journey.
The Summit Free Public Library is located at 67 Maple Street.
