Jessica Simpson's dropping the paperback edition of her memoir, Open Book, and decided to casually include some new diary entries about her ex-husband Nick Lachey. Which is certainly one way to generate buzz!
Jessica gives insight into the aftermath of her and Nick's divorce in the diary entries, even talking about Nick's then-new relationship with his now-wife Vanessa Lachey (who he started dating less than a year after splitting from Jessica).
“So, Nick, you’re with another already?” Jessica writes in an entry published by Entertainment Tonight. “Seems that you forgot the love you spoke to me.” She adds, “I’m saddened beyond belief. Alone in the dark, with no one to call my own.”
As a reminder for those of you who didn't watch MTV back in the early aughts, Nick and Jessica married in 2002, and after three blissful years starring in Newlyweds and having important convos about tuna, they called it quits.
Jessica talked at length about the breakup in Open Book, saying "Divorce is messy. I wish we were the kind of people who could divorce and stay friends. We weren’t, and I regret that my actions hurt him.”
She later told Entertainment Tonight "We both were at fault in a lot of things, but I'm happy for him now. He's married with three beautiful children. He took heartbreak and made it into something beautiful."
