On Saturday morning, South African journeyman Shaun Norris was thrust into the PGA Championship spotlight when paired with an ailing Tiger Woods at Southern Hills. In tough conditions with half of Oklahoma watching, Norris ground his way to a four-over 74, good for T60 at the time of writing. Despite the struggles, however, Norris and caddie both walked away thrilled by a weekend round at a major with the Big Cat.
Charming stuff, to be sure, but those scenes were nothing compared to the one that allegedly unfolded after Norris’ second round on Friday. Look out, Daly. You might finally have some competition.
Hilarious stuff, but something tells us Norris wasn’t laughing. The man loves nothing more than furiously ripping butts between shots, as evidenced by his Smoke Wagon-inspired performance on Saturday.
Can you imagine if this man's caddie lost his lighter just before the biggest round of his life? Hell hath no fury. Can you imagine if said caddie got canned 12 hours before teeing off with the greatest athlete his sport has ever seen? Potentially soul crushing. Thankfully an eagle-eyed fan was there to save the day … or dart as it were.
