Letter: Coronavirus symptoms absent in story - Chico Enterprise-Record

solokol.blogspot.com

I just read a front-page story about a single Chico High student testing positive for coronavirus. The last paragraph tells parents to be “vigilant on symptoms?” But you didn’t list the ever-changing first symptoms of the virus!

I checked the second page of your paper: no symptoms were listed, only the stats, that always talk about cumulative positive numbers from January, without giving percentages of the cases based on last week’s or last month’s numbers. Why?

My doctor told me six weeks ago, to watch for a lack of taste or smell, feeling exceedingly tired or achy, a headache, lastly, watch for an elevated temperate. This could happen extremely fast, so get tested/visit your doctor or emergency room immediately. Do not enter offices, let them come out to you.

Wear a mask, wash, or sanitize your hands regularly. This information is six weeks old! Your paper’s job should be to keep us all up to date on the dangers, not to scare your readers. Don’t tell me you give contacts for further information, please! (Most of your readers have busy lives and need information to make informed decisions, not to scare working mothers.)  Up your game please!
