It’s almost a new year and many of us are thinking — good riddance, 2020.
A new year always brings the promise of something better and we already have a few things to look forward to — a new president, a biracial female vice president and the promise of a coronavirus vaccine. Still, there are many challenges ahead.
Nevertheless, 2021 is coming — what are you looking forward to in the new year? Is it getting back to some sort of “normal”? Is it a milestone event? Is it just remaining healthy and human?
For December, please share with the IJ a six-word story about your biggest hope for 2021. Please make it a story with a beginning, middle and end, and not just six adjectives — make us laugh or cry or at the very least feel something.
If you want your story to run in the IJ, please:
• Write “Six-word story” in the subject line
• Send one story. Just one
• Include your full name and Marin town in the body of the email (not in the subject line)
• Write your short story in the body of the email (not in the subject line or in an attachment)
• Use proper punctuation (check the dictionary, please)
• Use correct spelling (check the dictionary, please)
Send your six-word story to lifestyles@marinij.com by Dec. 18 with “Six-Word Story” in the subject line. Then look for your story in the Dec. 29 lifestyles section and online.
