The summer coronavirus surge is disproportionately impacting southern Oregon, with counties like Douglas, Jackson and Josephine seeing the highest case, hospitalization and death numbers of the entire pandemic driven by transmission of the delta variant.

The Oregonian/OregonLive is looking to share the stories of individuals and families in that area impacted by this surge and learn more about the current circumstances and attitudes of those affected toward the virus, the vaccines and other potential interventions.

If you lost a friend or family member in July, August or September and are willing to share your story, please contact reporter Ted Sickinger at 503-221-8505 or email him at tsickinger@oregonian.com.
