For more than a decade, On the Minds of Moms magazine has been featuring area women who proudly wear the title of Mom.

We have yet to find a mom who doesn’t have a compelling story to share, whether it’s a story of personal growth, heartache, triumph or simply the best of them — a story of love.

In honor of Mother’s Day this year, we’d like to share a few of our favorite magazine cover stories from the last couple of years.

Divorce, depression and an unexpected addiction to prescription pain medication. This is only part of Katherine (Kiernan) Flom’s story. Katherine was able to channel those struggles into survival and is now helping others who find themselves on similar journeys.

Bethany Berkeley Frederick didn’t want to be a statistic. Growing up poor and dropping out of high school, she could have easily become one. But Bethany was determined to overcome those obstacles and help others along the way. Today, she’s the president of Dale Carnegie North Dakota and Minnesota and continues to inspire those around her. “ … You can let life beat you and define you or you can keep getting up and keep fighting for the life you want.”
