Season 12 of American Horror Story, Ryan Murphy's acclaimed anthology series for FX, will feature Michaela Jaé Rodriguez in an undisclosed role, Deadline reports.
The trans actress and singer shared a post on Instagram that appeared to confirm her casting.
"Guess the cats out of the bag," her caption reads.
Rodriguez got her start as a stage actress and had a number of small television parts before her breakout role in FX's Pose, which centers on New York's LGBTQ+ ballroom scene. In 2022, Rodriguez won the Golden Globe Award for best actress in a television drama series for her work on Pose, becoming the first transgender actor in history to earn a Golden Globe. Also in 2022, she was named one of Time magazine's women of the year.
By joining the cast of American Horror Story, Rodriguez will reunite with series co-creator Ryan Murphy, who also executive-produced and co-created Pose. Other Pose cast members have starred in American Horror Story and its spin-offs in the past, including Golden Globe-winner Billy Porter and trans icons Angelica Ross and Dominique Jackson.
Rodriguez follows these Pose veterans in crossing over to FX's horror franchise, though details about her part in the series have yet to surface.
Also coming on board with Rodriguez is out model and actor Cara Delevingne, who was spotted filming for the show in New York last Thursday, per the Daily Mail.
American Horror Story season 12, dubbed AHS: Delicate, has already made waves for other high profile casting announcements. In April, reality TV star and model Kim Kardashian revealed her own inclusion in the series with a short teaser video. This same video announced the return of AHS regular Emma Roberts.
