PHOENIX (AP) — While many have found their inner star baker during the pandemic, it’s been the opposite for a reporter who finds she can have her cake but others can’t eat it too. For her, baking is not just a hobby but a personal way to show gratitude or to make friends. The risk of catching COVID-19 has meant no longer surprising friends, her newsroom, or members of her community with cupcakes, cookies and other sweet treats.
