A discussion was started today about who fans think will sit atop the statistical leaderboard for the Golden Knights when the 2020-21 regular season has come to an end. So, who do the fans think will lead Vegas in scoring this season? Let's find out.
This one intrigues me. Alex Tuch has certainly shown flashes of being a player that can pile up stats. It doesn't hurt him that he's playing with Cody Glass and Nic Roy right now.
Max Pacioretty was the leading scorer for the VGK in 2019-20 with 66 points (32G, 34A). Could he lead the team again? Absolutely. The look of the Golden Knights' offense implies there will be a balanced attack throughout the season. Pacioretty could certainly be the one who edges out his teammates in this regard.
It would be something if Shea Theodore led the Golden Knights in scoring this season. A defenseman has never been the leading scorer of the team however Vegas has only been in the league for three seasons and has had high-scoring forwards in all three of those campaigns. His offensive upside makes this more believable than not.
Gosh, would it be fun to see Mark Stone have a really productive season offensively or what? He's one of the most intense players in the league and his excitement for scoring shines through when he sets up a teammate or buries a shot himself. He's a contender to be the top scorer in Vegas to be sure.
Another vote for Stone here, but also a fun note on Cody Glass. He had 12 points (5G, 7A) in 39 games last season and had battles with injury and inconsistency. To think that Glass could set career highs in all offensive categories despite the shortened season would not be farfetched.
