Jeff Kinney, author of the bestseller “Diary of a Wimpy Kid," will be stopping by Harrisburg to celebrate his latest book in the Wimpy Kid series, “The Deep End.”
The event will be a drive-thru event held at the WITF Public Media Center in Swatara Township, with a series of interactive pool party-themed vignettes. The drive will culminate with Kinney personally delivering signed copies of his new book to each vehicle via a six-foot pool skimmer.
The event will be held on October 29, and tickets for the event will be sold for 5, 5:30, 6 and 6:30 p.m. time slots. Each ticket admits one car, and also includes one pre-signed copy of “The Deep End.” Families are encouraged to decorate their cars and wear costumes themed after the Wimpy Kid series, and the car with the best decorations will also leave with a complete boxed set of the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” books.
All attendees must wear masks while their car windows are open, and stay inside the car during the event. Kinney will also take socially-distant photos with fans, with guests staying inside the car and him posing outside.
