Wright State junior volleyball player Jenna Story was featured by the Horizon League on Monday as part of the league's Student-Athlete Spotlight, highlighting male and female student-athletes from across its 12 member institutions for their successes both on and off the field of competition.
Story, a defensive specialist from Louisville, Kentucky, was the 2019 Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year and one of the top defensive players in the country last season. Her 6.23 digs/set average finished second in the nation in 2019, while her 692 total digs were the sixth-most nationally. From her libero position, Story guided the Raiders to the best digs/set average nationally (19.42 as a team) and the 11th-most team digs in the country (2,156) as Wright State won the Horizon League regular season championship and earned an at-large selection into the NCAA Tournament for the first time. An Accountancy major, Story's 692 digs reset the Wright State single season dig record by over 100 digs, while her 1,248 total digs over her first two seasons are already inside the Top 10 for the Wright State career digs leaders.
The @Nike Horizon League Student-Athlete Spotlight this week begins by recognizing @WSUVball Jenna Story who was named the #HLVB Defensive Player of the Year in 2019 after finishing second in the nation in digs per set,
