1st Inning:
Tyler Glasnow on short rest?
Glasnow getting through the 1st on only 8 innings?! We love that!
Cole looks.. Human? A walk by Lowe, HBP by Randy (NOOOOOO!) and Yandy Diaz loaded the bases with two outs, anddddd no runs.
We hate that.
Inning 2
Walks seem so dangerous right now. Glasnow walks one but strikes out two and gets a fly out.
Andddd Cole looks locked in. Adames/Kiermaier/Zunino go down swinging. Pls baseball gods.
Inning 3:
Glasnow back out! Definitely a good sign. Walked Gardner, but a beautiful curve to strike out Kyle Higaghioka. As predicted, Glasnow comes out for..Nick Anderson?! Just as all of us predicted.
Anderson needed just 2 pitches to get a inning ending double play.
If there were some doubts about Cole being locked in are all but erased because he just sat down Meadows, Lowe and Arozarena.
Inning 4
How are you at handling bad news? Because I have some sorta bad news. Good news first! Nick Anderson got out of the inning! Bad news: Judge hit what looked excuse me swing for a HR.
Rays had really good at bats. Walk by Yandy, and extended at bats by Joey Wendle and Willy Adames, but nothing to show for it as Cole puts up another zero and the Rays have nine consecutive innings of no hit baseball.
Inning 5
Anderson back out for the 5th inning, and although gave up a single, still got out of the inning unscathed.
Bottom of the 5th and first two batters are outs versus Cole because of course they are, and Austin Meadow is up to the plate. Who hits a HOME RUN AND TIES IT UP AT 1! LETS GO!
Tie Game! 1-1!
Inning 6
Peter Fairbanks in for Nick Anderson! He gets the first two outs but then a single for Aaron Hicks and a walk to Giancarlo Stanton (fine with that) and we are in some trouble. Little meeting from Kyle Snyder.
STRIKEOUT OF LUKE VOIT!
Bottom of the 5th and Randy Arozarena hits a long fly ball with a xBA of .610 and is robbed by Brett Gardner of all people.
Mike Brosseau is pinch hit for Ji-Man Choi and gets a hit, along with a Yandy Diaz walk, and the Rays have the go ahead run on 2nd base! And Willy Adames hits a 107.8 MPH Screamer straight to Aaron Judge.
7th Inning
Peter Fairbanks comes out AGAIN?!
Fairbanks sits down the Side 1-2-3. Love to see it!
8th Inning
Diego Castillo on for Peter Fairbanks? With a 1-1 tie? You love to see it. He walks Judge (also fine with this) and gets Aaron Hicks to ground out right to Brosseau
