The fast-approaching deadline to reach a new collective bargaining agreement has resulted in a flurry of MLB moves, with no letup expected. I’ll be weighing in on all the major signings and trades as they happen, so check back often. Here are my takeaways on what’s transpired and some thoughts on what’s to come. Buckle up!

Wednesday’s moves

Giants have reloaded their rotation

The Giants entered the offseason with just one starting pitcher (Logan Webb) on their depth chart, but in a matter of weeks they’ve secured three more starters on two- and three-year deals. They re-signed right-hander Anthony DeSclafani to a three-year, $36 million deal, landed former Angels righty Alex Cobb with a two-year, $20 million contract and on Wednesday announced they’d re-signed lefty Alex Wood to a two-year, $25 million deal. Wood made 26 starts last season and posted a 3.83 ERA in 138 2/3 innings. He had an impressive 12.
