Dive 75 is a small dive bar on 75th Street off of Columbus Avenue. For one couple a romance that started there has come full circle — with an engagement over the weekend. Tyler Nazari told us his love story:
“Two and a half years ago my fiancĂ©, Anthony Borges and I met for the first time at Dive 75. I of course was running late and I remember frantically rushing down to the corner of 75th and Columbus just hoping he would still be there. I didn’t really know what to expect. We had a great night playing board games and getting to know each other. He beat me about 20 times in a row at Connect 4. He thought I was letting him win but in actuality I’m just terrible at board games. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect it to be the start of an amazing journey together.
When I was thinking of how I wanted to propose I decided that I wanted to re-create that night that started it all. Of course things are a little different right now and with Dive 75 still closed I had to get creative. I ordered a giant life size connect 4 board with our names on it and with some help from some friends decorated the front of the bar with lights.
It was an unforgettable night. I got down on one knee and asked my best friend to spend the rest of our lives together.”
Congratulations to the happy couple!
